Record Object

The record object is a member of the data object.  It provides the ability to identify records. A record is identified by field name - field value pairs.

Methods

Set

Sets the record identifier using a field name and a field value.

Function Set( field, value )

Parameters:
string field - field name.
variant value - field value.

Return value:
none

Record.Set "ID", 25

Modify

Modifies or adds a field name - field value pair to the record identifier.

Function Modify( field, value )

Parameters:
string field - field name.
variant value - field value.

Return value:
none

Record.Modify"ID", 33

GetValue

Gets a field value from the record identifier using a field name.

Function GetValue( field )

Parameters:
string field - field name.

Return value:
variant  - field value.

Record.GetValue( "ID" )

Get

Gets a SQL string corresponding to the record identifier

Function Get()

Parameters:
none

Return value:
string - SQL expression (the WHERE clause) identifying the record.

Record.Get()

Empty

Clears the record identifier.

Function Empty()

Parameters:
none

Return value:
none

Record.Empty()

IsEmpty

Checks if the record identifier is empty.

Function IsEmpty()

Parameters:
none

Return value:
boolean - true: the record identifier is empty; false otherwise.
